Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neporiz-D is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet developed and marketed by Ritz Pharma. It contains cinnarizine, a piperazine derivative with antihistaminic and calcium channel blocking properties, and domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. The product is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of vestibular disorders such as vertigo, as well as associated nausea and vomiting, and migraine prophylaxis. Cinnarizine works by reducing vestibular excitability through H1 antagonism and inhibition of calcium influx in the inner ear, while domperidone acts as a prokinetic and antiemetic agent by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and the upper gastrointestinal tract.
