**Ciprofloxacin + fluocinolone acetonide** is a fixed-dose otic antibacterial and corticosteroid combination. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, causing bactericidal disruption of bacterial DNA replication. Fluocinolone acetonide is a glucocorticoid receptor agonist that suppresses local inflammatory signaling. The combination is supplied as a 0.3%/0.025% otic solution, including brands such as Otovel and Cetraxal Plus, for bacterial ear infections including acute otitis media with tympanostomy tubes and, in certain markets, acute otitis externa.
