Ciprofol + sufentanil is an intravenous drug combination used for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia and for procedural sedation. Ciprofol (HSK3486) is a novel, short-acting GABA_A receptor agonist that is chemically related to propofol but demonstrates higher potency and a reduced incidence of injection-site pain. Sufentanil is a highly potent synthetic opioid that acts as a selective agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, providing intense analgesia and blunting hemodynamic responses to surgical stimuli. The combination is characterized by a synergistic interaction, allowing for lower doses of each agent, which enhances hemodynamic stability and reduces the risk of respiratory depression compared to higher doses of either drug alone. It is frequently studied for use in gastrointestinal endoscopy, tracheal intubation, and general surgery.
