Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three agents: - **Cisplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. - **Dimesna** is a uroprotective agent used to reduce the risk of hemorrhagic cystitis and other toxicities associated with certain chemotherapies, particularly those causing urothelial toxicity. - **Paclitaxel** is an antimicrotubule agent (taxane class) that stabilizes microtubules and prevents their depolymerization, thereby inhibiting cell division and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. This combination may be used for the treatment of various solid tumors where these agents are indicated, such as ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, or other cancers responsive to platinum/taxane regimens. Dimesna's inclusion aims to mitigate specific toxicities from cisplatin.
