cisplatin + epirubicin

Cisplatin is a platinum-based small molecule that acts as a DNA alkylating agent, forming inter- and intra-strand cross-links that inhibit DNA replication and transcription, leading to apoptosis. Epirubicin is an anthracycline small molecule that intercalates into DNA and inhibits DNA topoisomerase II, further disrupting DNA synthesis and repair. This specific protocol evaluates the efficacy of intraperitoneal (IP) cisplatin combined with intravenous (IV) epirubicin in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian-tube cancer, particularly following optimal cytoreductive surgery.
