Overview
PEip + TCiv is a combination chemotherapy regimen primarily investigated for the treatment of advanced epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer. The regimen involves the intraperitoneal (IP) administration of cisplatin and etoposide (PEip) alongside the intravenous (IV) administration of paclitaxel and carboplatin (TCiv). This approach aims to deliver high concentrations of cytotoxic agents directly to the peritoneal cavity, where ovarian cancer typically spreads, while maintaining systemic exposure through IV delivery. Cisplatin and carboplatin are platinum-based antineoplastic agents that form DNA cross-links, etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor, and paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent.
