Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three cytotoxic agents—cisplatin, mitomycin C, and teniposide. Each drug has a distinct mechanism of action targeting cancer cells: - **Cisplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. - **Mitomycin C** is an alkylating agent that acts as a bioreductive DNA crosslinker, inhibiting DNA synthesis and function. - **Teniposide** is a topoisomerase II inhibitor that prevents the religation of DNA strands during replication, resulting in cell death. This combination has been studied primarily for advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma and other solid tumors[1][3]. The rationale for combining these agents lies in their complementary mechanisms and potential synergistic effects against tumor cells.
