Cisplatin + paclitaxel + aparolitolovureli is a combination chemo-immunotherapy regimen. Aparolitolovureli (QL1706) is a bifunctional antibody developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical that simultaneously targets the PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoints. By inhibiting these pathways, it restores and enhances the anti-tumor activity of T-cells. The chemotherapy component, consisting of the platinum-based agent cisplatin and the taxane paclitaxel (often in a nanoparticle albumin-bound formulation), provides cytotoxic activity by inducing DNA damage and inhibiting microtubule disassembly, respectively. This combination is primarily being evaluated in clinical trials led by Ruijin Hospital as a neoadjuvant and maintenance therapy for patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).
