The combination of cisplatin with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) represents a therapeutic approach that combines chemotherapy with immunotherapy for cancer treatment. Cisplatin is a well-established platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent. Cisplatin works by forming DNA crosslinks that interfere with cell division, leading to apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells[1]. The combination of cisplatin with immunotherapy approaches like TIL may offer synergistic benefits. Cisplatin can potentially enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy by increasing tumor antigen presentation and promoting immunogenic cell death, while TIL therapy provides targeted immune response against the tumor.
