Cisplatin + vinorelbine is a combination chemotherapy regimen primarily used for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Cisplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that works by forming DNA crosslinks, thereby inhibiting DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis essential for cancer cell division. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that acts as a mitotic spindle poison by binding to tubulin and disrupting microtubule formation during mitosis, leading to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and promoting apoptosis in malignant cells. This combination aims to destroy or slow down the growth of cancer cells and may help control symptoms associated with NSCLC[1][2][3][5][6][8].
