Overview

CLAG-M is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen composed of cladribine, cytarabine (also known as Ara-C), mitoxantrone, and filgrastim (G-CSF). It is primarily used for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), especially in relapsed or refractory cases. Cladribine is a purine analog that inhibits DNA synthesis; cytarabine is an antimetabolite that interferes with DNA replication; mitoxantrone is an anthracenedione that intercalates into DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II; and filgrastim is a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor used to stimulate white blood cell production. The combination aims to maximize anti-leukemic activity while supporting hematopoietic recovery with G-CSF[1][2][4][5].
