This combination therapy is a topical formulation developed by researchers at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital specifically for the management of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD). It integrates three functional components: clindamycin lactobionate, a lincosamide antibiotic that provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity to prevent or treat secondary infections; recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor (rh-aFGF), a potent mitogen that stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells to accelerate the healing of damaged skin; and zinc oxide, which serves as a physical barrier against moisture and irritants while providing mild astringent and anti-inflammatory effects. This multi-modal approach addresses the infection, tissue damage, and environmental irritation characteristic of IAD, particularly in elderly or bedridden patients.
