Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clobetasol propionate + neomycin sulphate + miconazole nitrate is a topical fixed-dose combination cream used for the treatment of mixed skin infections. It combines three active agents with distinct pharmacological actions: **clobetasol propionate**, a highly potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators; **neomycin sulphate**, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic that treats secondary bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis; and **miconazole nitrate**, an imidazole antifungal agent that stops fungal growth by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane. This combination is typically indicated for conditions such as infected eczema, dermatitis, tinea infections (ringworm, athlete's foot), and cutaneous candidiasis where bacterial or fungal involvement is present or suspected. It is widely available as a generic prescription medicine in various regions, including India and East Africa.
