Clodronate + toremifene is a combination therapy consisting of two small molecule drugs used in the management of breast cancer. Clodronate is a first-generation bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclastic bone resorption, thereby reducing skeletal-related events and potentially decreasing the risk of bone metastases in breast cancer patients. Toremifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that acts as an antiestrogen on breast tissue by blocking estrogen receptors, thus inhibiting the growth of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells. This combination has been studied for its potential benefits in improving outcomes for women with early or advanced hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, particularly by combining antiresorptive and hormonal mechanisms[2][4][6].
