Overview

DWP712 is a formulation of clostridium botulinum toxin type A under development by Daewoong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of glabellar lines (frown lines). Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP25), which blocks acetylcholine release at neuromuscular junctions, resulting in temporary muscle paralysis and reduction in dynamic facial wrinkles. The drug has completed Phase 1 clinical trials for glabellar lines. It is not yet approved in any country[2][5][7].
