clotrimazole + hydrocortisone

Candaderm is a topical combination cream containing the broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal clotrimazole (1% w/w) and the mild corticosteroid hydrocortisone (1% w/w). It is developed and marketed by AFT Pharmaceuticals for the short-term treatment of inflamed, itching, and sensitive fungal skin infections, such as tinea (athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm), fungal skin rash, cutaneous candidiasis (thrush), and fungally infected eczema or dermatitis. Clotrimazole acts by inhibiting fungal ergosterol synthesis, leading to structural and functional impairment of the fungal cytoplasmic membrane. Hydrocortisone provides anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects to relieve associated redness, swelling, and itching.
