Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Itch Derm Kt Dusting Powder is a topical fixed-dose combination antifungal and antipruritic formulation developed and marketed by Canbro Healthcare. It contains clotrimazole (1% w/w) and menthol. Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that inhibits the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol biosynthesis and compromising the integrity of the fungal cell membrane. Menthol acts as a cooling agent and antipruritic by activating the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 (TRPM8) channel, providing rapid relief from itching and irritation. This dusting powder is indicated for the treatment of fungal skin infections, including athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), ringworm (tinea corporis), and sweat rash, as well as pityriasis.
