CM313 + glucocorticoids

CM313 + glucocorticoids is an investigational combination therapy being studied for the treatment of moderate-to-severe pemphigus vulgaris and pemphigus foliaceus. CM313 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Keymed Biosciences that targets CD38, a cell surface protein highly expressed on plasma cells. By binding to CD38, CM313 induces the depletion of pathogenic autoantibody-producing plasma cells through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and other Fc-mediated mechanisms. The addition of low-dose glucocorticoids serves as a standard-of-care immunosuppressant to manage inflammation and autoantibody levels while potentially allowing for a reduced steroid burden (steroid-sparing effect) when used in conjunction with the targeted biologic. This specific regimen is currently being evaluated in a prospective clinical trial led by Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital.
