Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMB008 + methotrexate is a combination drug regimen used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis. CMAB008 is a biosimilar to infliximab, which is a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), acting as an inhibitor of inflammatory pathways. Methotrexate is an antimetabolite and immunosuppressant, inhibiting dihydrofolate reductase and interfering with folate metabolism, leading to suppression of DNA synthesis and immune activity. In clinical trials, this combination has demonstrated non-inferior efficacy and safety compared with innovator infliximab plus methotrexate. This regimen is primarily used intravenously for patients inadequately responsive to conventional therapies[3][5].
