Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CN54gp140 + GLA-AF is a prophylactic HIV-1 vaccine candidate developed by Imperial College London. It consists of a recombinant, trimeric HIV-1 clade C envelope glycoprotein (CN54gp140) formulated with the synthetic Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist adjuvant, glucopyranosyl lipid adjuvant-aqueous formulation (GLA-AF). The vaccine is designed to elicit both humoral and cellular immune responses against the HIV-1 envelope protein to provide protection against HIV infection. It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety and immunogenicity in healthy, HIV-uninfected volunteers, often as part of prime-boost regimens involving DNA plasmids or viral vectors.
