Overview

CNTO888 + doxorubicin is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. CNTO888 is a fully human IgG1κ monoclonal antibody that selectively binds and neutralizes CC-chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), a protein implicated in tumor angiogenesis, proliferation, and metastasis. By blocking CCL2, CNTO888 aims to inhibit tumor growth and spread. Doxorubicin is an anthracycline chemotherapy agent that works primarily by intercalating into DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II activity, leading to DNA damage and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination has been studied in early-phase clinical trials for safety and efficacy in patients with various solid tumors[6][8].
