Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CnU + Ursa is a **combination therapy** consisting of **CNU** (a capsule formulation containing the trihydrated magnesium salts of chenodeoxycholic acid and ursodeoxycholic acid) and **Ursa** (ursodeoxycholic acid, a bile acid). This combination is used primarily as a **litholytic agent** for the dissolution of gallstones and the treatment of biliary and functional dyspepsia. Both components act by modifying bile composition, promoting the dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones, and improving gallbladder ejection fraction. The combination has demonstrated greater efficacy in gallstone dissolution and prevention compared to monotherapy with either agent, likely due to additive or synergistic effects on bile acid composition and micelle formation. CNU is developed and manufactured by Myungmoon Pharm, while Ursa (ursodeoxycholic acid) is produced by several manufacturers, including Daewoong Pharm.
