Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of four active ingredients: - **Coenzyme Q10** (ubiquinone): a mitochondrial cofactor and antioxidant. - **Niacin** (vitamin B3): a water-soluble vitamin involved in redox reactions and lipid metabolism. - **Riboflavin** (vitamin B2): another water-soluble vitamin essential for energy production and cellular function. - **Tamoxifen**: a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) used primarily as an antiestrogen in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. The combination has been studied as an adjunct to tamoxifen therapy in postmenopausal women with breast cancer. The rationale is that while tamoxifen effectively blocks estrogen receptors to inhibit tumor growth, it can induce adverse metabolic effects such as hyperlipidemia and oxidative stress. Coenzyme Q10, niacin, and riboflavin are potent antioxidants that may counteract these side effects by normalizing lipid profiles, improving antioxidant status, reducing inflammatory cytokines, favorably altering blood chemistry parameters, and potentially lowering tumor marker levels such as CEA and CA 15-3. This combination aims to improve overall outcomes during tamoxifen therapy by mitigating its metabolic side effects without interfering with its antineoplastic action[1][2][5][7].
