Overview
**Colchicine + somatostatin** is a theoretical combination drug in which **colchicine**, a small molecule anti-inflammatory agent that inhibits tubulin polymerization and interferes with neutrophil activity, is paired with **somatostatin**, a peptide hormone that inhibits secretion of several hormones (including growth hormone, insulin, glucagon) and reduces gastrointestinal blood flow and motility. Colchicine is principally used for the treatment of gout and other inflammatory diseases by suppressing leukocyte migration and microtubule assembly. Somatostatin and its analogs are mainly utilized to manage hormone secretion disorders (such as acromegaly), certain tumors (e.g., carcinoid), and gastrointestinal bleeding.\nNo approved or clinical product contains both drugs simultaneously; published literature does not describe an approved pharmaceutical combination or an established clinical rationale for their concurrent use.
