Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Colgate 360 SupraClean Manual Toothbrush brush with 0.76% Na MFP, (1000 ppm F) is an oral care combination product developed by Colgate-Palmolive. It consists of a manual toothbrush featuring a 360-degree mouth cleaner design used in conjunction with a toothpaste containing 0.76% sodium monofluorophosphate (Na MFP), which delivers 1000 ppm of fluoride. The product is designed to reduce whole-mouth bacterial load (including on teeth, tongue, cheeks, and gums) and prevent dental caries (tooth decay). The fluoride component (Na MFP) acts by replacing hydroxyl groups in tooth enamel's hydroxyapatite to form acid-resistant fluorapatite, and by inhibiting bacterial enzymes such as ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase in oral bacteria like *Streptococcus mutans*, thereby reducing bacterial glycogen synthesis and acidogenesis. The toothbrush's mechanical action physically removes plaque and bacterial biofilm. A Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT07471477) evaluated the effectiveness of this 360-degree mouth cleaner design compared to a standard flat-trim manual toothbrush in reducing whole-mouth bacterial load in healthy adults.
