Overview

This is a combination of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a group of positional and geometrical isomers of linoleic acid commonly used as a dietary supplement, and ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor prescribed for hypertension and cardiovascular risk reduction. The combination has been studied in obese patients with hypertension, where CLA supplementation was found to enhance the antihypertensive effect of ramipril. Mechanistically, CLA may modulate adipocytokines such as adiponectin and leptin, while ramipril inhibits ACE to reduce angiotensin II production, leading to vasodilation and blood pressure reduction. This combination is not marketed as a fixed pharmaceutical product but has been investigated in clinical research settings for its potential synergistic effects on blood pressure control in specific populations[1][2][3][4][7].
