Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Control toothpaste (Lion Corporation) is a non-experimental dentifrice formulation used as a comparator in clinical research, specifically in a Phase 3 multicenter, randomized, double-masked trial investigating the effects of L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate magnesium salt (APM) on gingivitis. This control formulation contains 950 ppm fluoride, providing a standard-of-care baseline for caries prevention and oral hygiene, but lacks the experimental antioxidant APM. It was administered to participants to evaluate the relative efficacy of the test product in reducing gingival inflammation, redness, and bleeding over a three-month period.
