Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational combination therapy consists of standard conventional medical treatment paired with a high dose of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) developed by Shenzhen Beike Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. The hUC-MSCs are isolated from the Wharton's jelly of the umbilical cord using a non-enzymatic method. This therapy is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of decompensated liver cirrhosis, where it aims to improve liver function and reduce fibrosis. The cells function through multiple mechanisms, including the secretion of paracrine factors, immunomodulation of the inflammatory environment, and potential differentiation or stimulation of endogenous tissue regeneration. Clinical markers for these cells include CD105, CD90, and CD73. The therapy is typically administered via intravenous injection or hepatic artery infusion.
