Overview

This investigational combination therapy pairs standard conventional medical treatment with human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) developed by Shenzhen Beike Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. The hUC-MSCs are multipotent stromal cells harvested from Wharton's jelly of the umbilical cord, known for their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties. In the context of decompensated liver cirrhosis, these cells are intended to migrate to the injured liver tissue and exert paracrine effects that reduce fibrosis, promote hepatocyte regeneration, and modulate the systemic inflammatory response characteristic of end-stage liver disease. The therapy has been evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess safety and efficacy in improving liver function markers such as albumin levels and coagulation parameters.
