Overview

Copper Cu 64 NOTA-PSMAi-PEG-Cy5.5-C' dots are ultrasmall, renally clearable silica nanoparticles functionalized with a prostate-specific membrane antigen inhibitor (PSMAi), a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker, and the fluorescent dye Cy5.5, radiolabeled with copper isotope Cu‑64 for PET imaging[1][2][7]. The PSMAi moiety enables selective targeting and binding to PSMA expressed on tumor cells, particularly in prostate cancer[1][2]. Upon administration, these nanoparticles accumulate in PSMA-expressing tumors and can be visualized using positron emission tomography (PET) due to the radioactive Cu‑64 label; the Cy5.5 dye allows for intraoperative fluorescence imaging[1][2][7]. Developed by Elucida Oncology, this agent is primarily intended as a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical for detecting prostate cancer lesions and guiding surgical resection[2][3].
