Overview

Corifollitropin alfa + follitropin beta is a combination of two recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) analogues used in fertility treatments, particularly for controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in vitro fertilization. Corifollitropin alfa is a long-lasting fusion protein that allows for single-dose administration to stimulate the development of multiple ovarian follicles over one week, reducing the need for daily injections. Follitropin beta is a recombinant form of human FSH used to induce ovulation and support egg development. Both drugs act by mimicking endogenous FSH, binding to and activating the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor on ovarian granulosa cells, thereby promoting follicular growth and maturation[1][2][5]. These agents are typically administered with other hormones such as GnRH antagonists or hCG during ART cycles.
