Overview

Corifollitropin alfa + menotropin is a combination therapy used in controlled ovarian stimulation protocols, particularly for poor ovarian responders. Corifollitropin alfa is a long-acting recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) analog that can sustain follicular growth for seven days with a single injection, replacing the need for daily FSH injections. Menotropin (highly purified human menopausal gonadotropin or hpHMG) is then added to provide additional gonadotropin support. This combination is used in a GnRH antagonist protocol for women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies. Clinical studies have shown promising results in young poor ovarian responders (<40 years) with ongoing pregnancy rates of approximately 28%.
