Drug intelligence / Profile preview
COVID-19 convalescent plasma developed by Lifefactors Zona Franca, SAS is a biologic therapy consisting of plasma collected from individuals who have recovered from COVID-19. This passive immunotherapy contains high titers of neutralizing antibodies specifically targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The product is intended for the treatment of hospitalized patients, particularly those in the early stages of the disease, to prevent progression by neutralizing viral particles and facilitating their clearance. In clinical trials conducted in Colombia, the plasma underwent pathogen inactivation or reduction processes and was administered intravenously in a two-dose regimen. This approach leverages the natural immune response of recovered patients to provide immediate, albeit temporary, protection to those currently infected.
