Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination vaccine formulation that includes three distinct types of COVID-19 vaccines: - An inactivated (killed virus) COVID-19 vaccine, which uses whole SARS-CoV-2 virus particles that have been rendered non-infectious to stimulate an immune response. - A recombinant human adenovirus serotype 26 vector-based COVID-19 vaccine, which uses a genetically engineered adenovirus (Ad26) as a delivery system to introduce genetic material encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein into host cells, prompting the body to mount an immune response[6][7]. - An mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine, which delivers messenger RNA encoding the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles. This instructs host cells to produce the spike protein and elicit both antibody and cellular immunity[1][2][3][7]. Each component works by presenting antigens from SARS-CoV-2 to the immune system via different mechanisms. The combination aims to leverage multiple immunological pathways for potentially broader or more robust protection against COVID‑19.
