Overview

This is a combination of creatine monohydrate, a dietary supplement and naturally occurring compound involved in cellular energy metabolism, and escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. Creatine supplementation increases brain phosphocreatine stores, supporting ATP regeneration and neuroenergetic processes. Escitalopram inhibits the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) into presynaptic neurons, increasing synaptic serotonin levels to alleviate depressive symptoms. Clinical studies have shown that adding creatine to escitalopram therapy in patients with major depressive disorder can accelerate the onset of antidepressant effects and enhance overall treatment efficacy compared to SSRI alone[3][4][5][7]. The combination is being investigated primarily for its potential benefits in mood disorders such as depression.
