Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**crobenetine + midazolam** is a combination of two pharmacological agents: crobenetine, a novel use-dependent sodium channel blocker, and midazolam, a benzodiazepine. Crobenetine acts primarily by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, including the Nav1.2 (sodium channel protein type II alpha subunit), thereby inhibiting pain signaling pathways, particularly in inflammatory and neuropathic pain contexts. Midazolam enhances the effect of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA at the GABA-A receptor, producing sedative, anxiolytic, amnestic, muscle relaxant, and anti-convulsant effects, widely used for anesthesia and seizure management. No specific fixed-dose or commercial preparation of this combination exists as of 2025, and there are no published clinical trials or products using both together.
