Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CS-7017 + bexarotene is a combination of two small molecule drugs investigated for their potential anti-cancer effects. CS-7017 is a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonist, while bexarotene is a retinoid X receptor (RXR) agonist approved for the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The rationale for combining these agents lies in their complementary mechanisms targeting nuclear hormone receptors involved in cell differentiation and apoptosis. Bexarotene is developed and marketed under the brand name Targretin primarily by Eisai and has been used off-label in other cancers. The combination has been studied preclinically and clinically as an investigational therapy, including in multiple myeloma[3][8].
