Overview

CT-101 is an investigational small molecule kinase inhibitor developed for the topical treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, including atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. It was originally identified by Creabilis SA through a systems biology approach in collaboration with the University of Dundee and other partners, funded by a European Union Seventh Framework Programme grant. The compound utilizes Creabilis's proprietary Low Systemic Exposure (LSE) technology, which is designed to provide localized therapeutic action within the skin while minimizing systemic absorption and associated side effects. Following the acquisition of Creabilis by Sienna Biopharmaceuticals in 2016, CT-101 was integrated into Sienna's dermatology pipeline. However, development of the candidate was effectively terminated after Sienna Biopharmaceuticals filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2019 and subsequently liquidated its assets.
