CTH522 + CAF09b is a vaccine candidate for Chlamydia trachomatis. CTH522 is a recombinant, engineered version of the Major Outer Membrane Protein (MOMP), comprising heterologous immunorepeats of VD4 regions from four genital C. trachomatis serovars (D, E, F, and G). The vaccine is adjuvanted with CAF09b, a liposomal adjuvant. In clinical trials, CTH522 + CAF09b has demonstrated the ability to induce neutralizing IgG and IgA in serum and in the female reproductive tract, as well as cell-mediated immune responses. The vaccine showed stronger immunogenicity compared to CTH522 adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide.
