Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cumin extract + ginger extract is a combination of two botanical extracts derived from the seeds of *Cuminum cyminum* (cumin) and the rhizome of *Zingiber officinale* (ginger). Both are widely used in traditional medicine and as dietary supplements. The combination is primarily marketed for digestive health, with purported benefits including improved digestion, relief from gastrointestinal discomfort, anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidant activity, and potential support for joint health. Some formulations have also been explored for topical use to promote wound healing by enhancing collagen production (from cumin) and increasing vascularity/blood flow (from ginger), as well as reducing inflammation[1][2][4]. Mechanistically, both extracts act through multi-targeted pathways involving inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases. There is no established pharmaceutical indication or regulatory approval; it is generally available as a dietary supplement or ingredient in functional foods.
