Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Curcumin + galactomannoside is a novel **bioavailable combination** of natural curcumin complexed with fenugreek-derived galactomannan dietary fiber (from Trigonella foenum-graecum), designed to significantly enhance the oral bioavailability of curcumin compared to standard preparations. Curcumin is a polyphenolic compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties but limited absorption and rapid metabolism when administered by itself. Complexing curcumin with galactomannoside improves its absorption, delivers higher plasma levels of free curcuminoids, and supports its biological activity. The formulation (CGM, CurQfen) has demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, anti-proliferative, and potential hepatoprotective effects in animal models and early human trials, with promising applications in inflammatory diseases (such as ulcerative colitis and arthritis), liver dysfunction in chronic alcoholics, and cancer cell line studies.
