Overview

Curcumin + QingDai is a combination of two herbal compounds—curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) and QingDai (also known as Indigo or derived from *Indigofera tinctoria*). This nutraceutical blend has been studied for the treatment of moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC), particularly in patients who have failed conventional therapies. Clinical trials and real-world studies indicate that the combination can induce clinical response and remission in active UC, with notable efficacy even among patients refractory to biologics or immunomodulators[1][2][3][4]. The mechanism of action appears to involve activation of the aryl-hydrocarbon receptor pathway in colonic mucosa, which may trigger a natural inflammation-control switch distinct from immune suppression[4]. The product is standardized for medical use with controlled levels of indigo and indirubin. All adverse events reported were reversible upon discontinuation of QingDai[6].
