Cx401 + fibrin glue is an autologous cell therapy combination developed by TiGenix (formerly Cellerix) for the treatment of complex perianal fistulas. The therapy consists of autologous adipose-derived adult stem cells (ASCs) that are harvested from the patient's own adipose tissue, expanded ex vivo, and then administered into the fistula tract using fibrin glue as a delivery vehicle and sealant. The ASCs are intended to promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation through paracrine signaling and direct cell interaction, while the fibrin glue provides a mechanical closure of the tract. Although the combination reached Phase III clinical trials (FATT-1), development was discontinued as the developer shifted focus toward allogeneic off-the-shelf stem cell products like darvadstrocel (Cx601).
