AliviaMax is an ophthalmic solution containing cyclopentolate hydrochloride, a synthetic anticholinergic agent. Developed by Denver Farma, it is primarily used to induce mydriasis (dilation of the pupil) and cycloplegia (paralysis of the ciliary muscle) during diagnostic procedures such as refraction testing and ophthalmoscopic examinations. By competitively blocking muscarinic receptors in the eye, it prevents the contraction of the iris sphincter and the ciliary body muscle. It is typically available in 0.5% and 1% concentrations and is marketed in Argentina for ophthalmic use.
