Overview

**cyclophosphamide + doxorubicin + cisplatin + cytarabine** is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of four cytotoxic agents: cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent), doxorubicin (an anthracycline topoisomerase II inhibitor), cisplatin (a platinum-based DNA cross-linking agent), and cytarabine (an antimetabolite nucleoside analog). This combination has been primarily investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced, refractory, or recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer. It is often administered in a sequential schedule where systemic intravenous cisplatin, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide (PAC) are followed by intraperitoneal cytarabine (Ara-C) to exploit the pharmacologic advantage of local administration and maximize tumor cell kill in the peritoneal cavity.
