A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and paclitaxel with lithium carbonate as a supportive agent. The AC-T portion (doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, followed by paclitaxel) is a standard chemotherapy regimen for breast cancer, while lithium carbonate is being studied as an addition to reduce chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Each component has a distinct mechanism of action: doxorubicin damages DNA inside cancer cells, cyclophosphamide attaches to and damages DNA in cancer cells during their resting phase, paclitaxel damages the cellular structure supporting cancer cells, and lithium carbonate helps increase neutrophil counts.
