This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of four drugs: - Cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and transcription, leading to cell death. - Fluorouracil (5-FU), an antimetabolite that inhibits thymidylate synthase, disrupting DNA synthesis and function. - Methotrexate, another antimetabolite that inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, blocking the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines required for DNA replication. - Fluoxymesterone, a synthetic androgen (anabolic steroid) used in some cancer regimens for its anti-tumor effects via hormonal modulation. Each drug acts through a distinct mechanism to inhibit cancer cell growth or induce apoptosis. This specific four-drug combination is not widely referenced in standard clinical protocols; however, combinations of cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, and fluorouracil (CMF) are well-established in the treatment of breast cancer and other malignancies[3][4][5]. The addition of fluoxymesterone may be intended for specific hormone-responsive cancers such as certain types of breast or prostate cancers.
