Cyclophosphamide + nandrolone decanoate is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used together in clinical trials, primarily for the treatment of advanced breast carcinoma. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that works by cross-linking DNA strands, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and leading to cell death, particularly in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Nandrolone decanoate is an anabolic steroid and androgen receptor agonist that promotes erythropoiesis (red blood cell production) and has been used to manage anemia associated with renal insufficiency as well as osteoporosis. The rationale for combining these drugs was to potentially enhance antitumor efficacy or mitigate some side effects; however, clinical trial results indicated no significant benefit over cyclophosphamide monotherapy in advanced breast cancer[1][2][10].
