Overview

Cyclophosphamide + vincristine + prednisone (often abbreviated as COP) is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily in the treatment of certain hematologic malignancies, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia[2][3][5]. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and cell division. Vincristine is a plant alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation, thereby blocking mitosis. Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that induces apoptosis in certain cancer cells and modulates immune responses. The combination exploits different mechanisms to maximize anti-tumor activity and reduce the likelihood of drug resistance.
