Overview
A combination therapy consisting of cyclosporine, a calcineurin inhibitor, and infliximab, a TNF-α inhibitor monoclonal antibody. This combination works through complementary immunosuppressive mechanisms: Cyclosporine inhibits T cell activation by preventing the production of inflammatory cytokines like IL-2, while infliximab binds to TNF-α, preventing it from interacting with its receptors and disrupting pro-inflammatory cascade signaling. The combination is used in refractory cases of various inflammatory conditions.
